Alice & Dunbar Susong, Wed. Oct. 4th 2023
Swap is moved to First Presbyterian Church for October only
Alice and Dunbar Susong have lived and traveled in many of the great wilderness areas of the world. Alice will share stories of Life With Ranger Dunbar at the free Story Swap in Port Angeles on Tuesday, October 4 at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 139 W. 8th St. Enter the church from the parking lot on the alley.
Alice Susong started telling stories to her children while camping in a tent at Yellowstone. Her stories of “Life With Ranger Dunbar” convey an intimate experience of the national parks. Now retired, Dunbar Susong was a park ranger for years at Yellowstone National Park. His rich singing voice has delighted listeners whether he was calling a square dance, singing a traditional song, or fitting his own topical lyrics to a well known tune.
Open Mic
The story swap evening will begin with open mic storytelling. Audience members are welcome to share a story of up to 10 minutes length. Anyone interested in telling a story is strongly encouraged to develop it and practice it at the monthly Story Work session on Zoom — find more information on our Facebook page. Guidelines for storytellers can be found by clicking here.
