Eva Abram, International Folktales and Historical Stories, Wed. June 7th, 2023
Eva Abram will be the featured teller at the free story swap, at 7 p.m. in the Carver room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Eva is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a graduate of the University of Washington. “I believe the power of storytelling is universal,” she says. “I’ve been pulled into this world of storytelling and acting because stories have a magical way of showing us the beauty of each other’s culture and the beauty within ourselves. Through my stories I celebrate our similarities — values, emotions, experiences. I also use stories to celebrate our differences — stories are bridges that connect culture to culture.” People of all ages will enjoy Eva’s engaging, entertaining, multicultural folktales and historical presentations.

Open Mic
The story swap evening will begin with open mic storytelling. Audience members are welcome to share a story of up to 10 minutes length. Anyone interested in telling a story is strongly encouraged to develop it and practice it at the monthly Story Work session on Zoom — find more information on our Facebook page. Guidelines for storytellers can be found by clicking here.
