Festival Of Friends (on Zoom) — Oct. 20, 2020
Filling in for the Forest Storytelling Festival this year…
We’re going to hold one evening of storytelling, featuring tellers from Pacific Northwest guilds, with our beloved festival MC — Pat Peterson.
The event is free on Zoom, from 7-9pm
(donations for the tellers will be gratefully accepted). Contact us at: ClallamStoryPeople@gmail.com to get the Zoom link.
Tellers:
Juliana Person (Portland) mostly favors personal tales, drawing from her travels around the world making wine, growing up with horses, or her experiences as a cancer survivor. She tells stories to bring light to darker times and make bright spots even more brilliant.
Larry Krackle (Tacoma) has written humorous books about life as a child growing up on the Olympic Peninsula, is the president of a comedy club group, and an inspirational speaker addressing mental health.
Barry McWilliams (Seattle) brings vigor and enthusiasm to traditional folktales and trickster stories, especially those with a bit of an unusual twist. He has high regard for myths and legends – and has regularly participated in the Seattle Storytellers Guild Epic Events.
Jennifer Ferris (Victoria) uses the power of humor and language to engage audiences of all ages with stories of real life, the folk realm, myth, magic and transformation.
Stet Palmer (South Sound) shares personal stories and historical tales from the Pacific Northwest.
Tobey Anderson (representing the Story People of Clallam County, but hailing from Olympia) loved the folktales from Japan retold at her family gatherings. From listener to being the teller of stories, she has carried on this family tradition. As a Peace Corps volunteer and international teacher she has lived in 7 countries from Asia to Europe. Considered a “Third Culture Kid” Tobey has had the fortune to be able to gather stories from diverse cultures.
