From salt-laden tears and singing streams to fountains of youth and sacred springs, water has been called “the first medicine.” Join storyteller Will Hornyak, a master teller of tales, for an evening of myths, legends, poems, songs and lore of healing and renewal from mythic Ireland and beyond. For ages 14 and older.

From Irish myths and Russian fairytales to Oregon Tall tales, Mexican fables and beyond, Will Hornyak weaves a wide web of oral traditions into thoughtful, well-crafted and engaging performances, workshops and keynotes. A life-long traveler he has has worked a fisherman in Alaska, a newspaper reporter in South America, a carpenter, farmhand and university instructor.
Will teaches storytelling in professional communication at Clark College and performs throughout the United States. He has been a featured performer at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee and at numerous regional festivals.
A strong advocate for storytelling as a change agent in personal and collective life, Will works with the Portland non-profit organizations “Open Hearts, Open Minds” to bring storytelling, theatre and dialogue to Oregon’s incarcerated populations. He has assisted many corporate and non-profit organization in developing and telling the stories that reflect their values, mission and vision. His award-winning assembly program: Living Streams — Stories for Healthy Watersheds, has been performed for over 60,000 Northwest K-5 students since 2002. For further information: WillHornyak.net
