James The Obscure will cast his own enchanting spells of delight at the March Story Swap.

James will enthrall you with three tales of Celtic Magic, in which:

• A man steals a sealskin and wins a wife – alas;
• A mortal enters the world of the faerie unbidden;
• A king disrespects a goddess and earns a curse.

James says, “My entrance into storytelling has come through the door of ancient Norse tales, which has broadened to include Celtic legends.  Their heroes show us the ways of the people; oaths are to be fulfilled, challenges are to be answered, promises are kept, and debts are to be paid.”

James the Obscure Hodgson loves the ancient tales for he believes they carry the heart and mind of our human endeavor. He tells his tales for both adults and children. James grew up in Seattle during WWII, and moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 1990. He is a retired teacher, and is also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. He is a former President of The Story People of Clallam County.
