January 21st 2020 Story Swap – Rodger Petroff
Rodger Petroff will present an evening of stories as the featured teller at the free Story Swap, Tuesday, January 21st at 7 p.m. in the Carver room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
Rodger is a lifelong resident of the Olympic Peninsula, and he will tell the story of the Forks Fire. He has been a member of the Story People for many years, he recounts, “I became a Story People the end of a Patrick Mendoza concert. Josephine Pederson asked, ‘would you like to become a member? Only $5’ I paid the $5 and attended my 1st monthly meeting a year later”. He began telling stories himself after taking a workshop from the venerable Margaret Reed McDonald in Vancouver, BC. He then became the story coordinator for his church, as well as a frequent presenter at the open mic of the Story People. Many of his stories come from his family life experience and from his work as an equipment operator on the Olympic Peninsula.
