January 4, 2023, Alice and Dunbar Susong
Alice Susong will entertain listeners with an evening of stories of life in the national parks where she lived with her ranger husband Dunbar, and raised their kids. She is the featured teller at the free Story Swap, Wednesday, January 4th at 7 p.m. in the Carver room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Dunbar Susong will share some of the songs he has written.
Alice spent over 30 years living in national parks where her husband Dunbar worked as a Park Ranger. They lived in Rocky Mountain, Great Smoky Mountains, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Alice started telling stories to her children while camping lying in the tent on a rainy night, “Mom tell us a story” and so the stories started.
Open Mic
The story swap evening will begin with open mic storytelling. Audience members are welcome to share a story of up to 10 minutes length. Anyone interested in telling a story is strongly encouraged to develop it and practice it at the monthly Story Work session on Zoom — find more information on our Facebook page. Guidelines for storytellers can be found by clicking here.
