From the mythic Hag of Beara and Lusty Queen Maeve to the historic Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley, storyteller William Kennedy Hornyak celebrates the many faces of Irish goddesses, hags and heroines. Join us for a fun, engaging and wild ride through tales, poems, songs and lore in honor of the unfettered Celtic feminine. For mature audiences only.
About the storyteller
William Kennedy Hornyak is fiery, captivating, and a master of the storytelling craft. His stories wrap you up, and take you deep into the human experience. He has performed on the main stage of the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro, Tennessee. More often than not though he can be found in schools, pubs, prisons, churches, colleges, community centers and puttering around his own backyard in Milwaukie, Oregon. “Storyteller par excellence…endless wit…boundless imagination…transports audiences young and old into an amazing world of imagination.” The Oregonian
Location and practical details
For this event the Olympic Theater Arts building in Sequim (414 N. Sequim Ave.) will be transformed into the Tir na Nog pub, named for the mythic Irish land beneath the seas. Admission is $15, tickets will be on sale online on the OTA website, and at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm, alcoholic beverages (Guinness, Irish whiskey, Irish Cream, and more) will be available for purchase.
