May 21, 2019 Story Swap — Anne Brendler
Anne Brendler will present an evening of entertaining and thought-provoking traditional stories from around the world. Brendler will be the featured teller at the free Story Swap, Tuesday, May 21st at 7 p.m. in the Carver room of the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Her program includes three stories about women and marriage, from varying perspectives, and featuring strong female protagonists. She will present two other stories reflecting her outlook on life.
While Brendler’s program at the library is designed for adults, she came to storytelling as a magical tool for communicating what she wanted to teach her elementary students. Brendler says, “careful and imaginative listening is key, a good story is the creation of both the teller and the listener together.” Brendler is now retired from teaching. She strives to tell stories that are uplifting and entertaining, always with an emphasis on fun.
After a short refreshment break, there is an open mic session for anyone to step up and share a short tale.
