Story Swap at Port Angeles Library

The audience is an integral part of a story swap.

Enraptured by a story; all tellers need a good audience!

Starting in September 2022, our story swap will be meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, from September through June. Our meeting is in the Raymond Carver Room of the Port Angeles branch of the North Olympic Library System (2210 S. Peabody St.); there is no charge. Stories are typically aimed at audiences of adults and teens, not young children. Come listen to stories! Spend an evening being entertained and enchanted in a different way from watching TV or a movie.

Our (flexible) schedule is like this:

7:00 – 8:00 Open mic.

Audience members who have a story to tell may sign up for a slot. Stories at open mic are typically 5-10 minutes long. All stories are told, not read. See our guidelines for successful storytelling.

8:00 Stretch Break

8:10 – 9:00 The Featured Teller shares stories.

Click on the specific month’s blog post for details. Story Swaps use storytelling — an accessible and universal human activity — to open the doors of communication. Come, listen, expand your life — walk in the shoes of another!
