Stories for Seniors
James The Obscure Delights Residents of St. Andrew’s Place
At 1:30pm, on the fourth Tuesday of every month, a small audience of seniors assemble to hear a bard with a satchel full of stories. James The Obscure (aka James Hodgson) provides a departure from daily routine, and transports his listeners to long ago times and far away places. James says, “The residents are grateful, they like anything that stimulates their mind.” He also says that this audience sometimes draws the unexpected out of him, “Sometimes I tell stories that I didn’t think I would.”
James has been telling at St. Andrew’s since February of 2012. He took over from Elsa Johnson who first made the arrangement with St. Andrews, and told stories there for some time herself.
Story time is open to residents, their families and guests. If you know someone living at St. Andrew’s Place, make it a point to attend the story session with them next month!
